Windstreek’s sheltered area test results highly promising

In the Windstreek shed, the so-called moederklok provides a protected area for young chicks, so they can keep each other warm. As a result, the rest of the shed does not need to be heated, saving considerable energy.

Prototypes of the moederklok were made together with VDL using natural and mechanical ventilation. These were then tested in practice at the Nijkamp farm, where air humidity, temperature and chick growth were measured.
