The Plukon laboratory in Wezep recently began conducting analyses to detect antibiotic-resistant bacteria. More than 300,000 analyses are carried out every year, primarily for reasons of food safety (such as salmonella tests).
Many other companies in the food industry have laboratory contracts, but Plukon believes in the added value of having its own lab. The communication lines are short and the lab can respond quickly to any irregularities. Thanks to an automated reporting system, the analysis results are also available almost immediately.
The lab also works for De KuikenaeR, hatcheries, poultry farmers and related industries.
