Plukon acquires Lintor/Verbinnen inventory

The Plukon Food Group announced today that they have purchased the land, buildings and machinery of the now bankrupt companies Lintor and Verbinnen in Olen, Belgium.

Chicken slaughterhouse Lintor and chicken processing company Verbinnen are no longer in operation following the bankruptcy of both on 25 February. Together Lintor/Verbinnen slaughtered and processed around 750,000 chickens per week. Most of the customer base for both is in Western Europe, with a strong focus on the Belgian retail sector.

As part of the sale, Plukon has taken over the land, buildings and machinery of both companies. In coming months, Plukon will prepare to restart production. Hefty investments in the slaughterhouse in particular will determine how soon production can be resumed.

The purchase of both companies is in keeping with the Plukon Group’s ambition to further strengthen its leading position in the Western European market.
