The Minister President of Lower Saxony, Stephan Weil, naturally visited Plukon on his tasting tour during the summer celebrations of the Lower Saxony state government in Berlin.
Berlin, 25 June 2018. On the evening of Monday, 25 June 2018, the federal state representation for Lower Saxony celebrated its annual Sommerfest (summer fest) for the eighteenth time in the ministerial gardens on Berlin’s Potsdam Square. The event attracted a record number of guests this year, with over 3,000 people in attendance. Even Chancellor Angela Merkel was among the many prominent guests at the event, enjoying an evening of typical Lower Saxony-style conviviality and a variety of delicacies from the area. Poultry producer Plukon, which maintains a site in the Lower Saxony town of Visbek, naturally also joined in the celebrations. The corporate group, which represents an authentic Lower Saxony tradition with its traditional poultry brand, Stolle, supplied fresh chicken to the event – raised under the animal-friendly FairMast label, of course. The chicken was grilled to perfection on a traditional cart and grilled for guests on the spot. The delicious smell of grilled chicken attracted large crowds to the stand, and many guests kept coming back for seconds and thirds, lingering well past midnight. Encouraged by the good weather, enjoyable atmosphere and excellent catering, most guests ended up staying until the wee hours.
